Barbwire & Lace is a unique and beautiful wedding venue that’s a little slice of Boho paradise right outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.
I'm always thrilled when a couple asks me to photograph their wedding at Barbwire & Lace because I know that they are going to get some fantastic pictures. The ceremony and reception are often held outside which boasts a comfortable 3.5 acres jutted against the picturesque Wasatch Mountains. Often times you will find a weathered barn or an old truck that can be a lot of fun to use in your photos.
The wedding packages offered by the venue includes indoor and outdoor spaces and are designed to be fully customizable to suit your needs.
Imagine sharing your first kiss as spouses on a vibrant green lawn overlooking mountains drenched in alpenglow or, saying “I do” beneath the shade of a grand oak tree next to an open-air barn with a warm fireplace. Or in this bride's case, share a teary-eyed and tender first-look with your dad as he sees you for the first time in your wedding dress.
But what really sets this venue apart from all the rest, is its one-of-a-kind western atmosphere, loaded with large varieties of antique furnishings. As soon as you enter the property, you realize that the old west is still alive and well with its carefully replicated western themed main street where every corner is a sight to behold.
The attention to detail with the antique furnishings is nothing short of amazing and it is truly something that must be seen in person to fully appreciate. And this attention to detail isn't exclusive to just the facade. As soon as you enter any of the buildings, it is apparent that the complex interiors are just as dynamic as the outside and packed to the brim with rustic boho design elements that create a cozy, relaxed, and warm ambiance.
Even though the property is filled with old-world charm, it has been updated with modern touches such as full heating and air-conditioning, and gorgeous chandeliers throughout that bring the spaces to life.
Around the property, you’ll find romantic natural backdrops, such as manicured greenery, fountains and large trees, that photograph beautifully. Your guests will love the venue the second they step onto the magical grounds, and they will rave about the romantic atmosphere for years to come.
One thing to note however is that once the sun sets, the property becomes quite dark, pitch black even in some areas. So, you'll want a photographer that is knowledgeable in off-camera flash or you'll run the risk of getting back pictures that are blurry and of low quality. But don't let that aspect deter you. Being a low-lit venue, just adds its charm, rustic elegance, and all-around romantic vibe. Check out some photos below where I used my lighting system to ensure that my client received pictures that were well-lit and tack sharp.
Barbwire & Lace is truly the epitome of rustic-boho chic and is by far, Utah's most romantic wedding venue. I've been lucky enough to shoot 2 weddings here over the course of the years and I would love to share some photos with you below of a full wedding that took place late last year.
