Bride copies vows from journal to vow book, pre-ceremony.
What about you?
Did you print, pen, or memorize your vows for the ceremony? Or did you go for the "repeat after me" style?
You wouldn't know it at first but deciding on whether or not to say your vows and how you say them, will be one of the most important and stressful decisions about your wedding.
My best advice: You don't want to worry about forgetting something on your big day and stress yourself out with memorizing your vows beforehand. But if you do have your mind set on memorizing, remember, repetition is key. But don't just blindly repeat the vows word for word. Take your time to understand exactly what you're saying and wrap your head around the spirit of the words being memorized.
And as always, take your partners wishes into consideration. Some people want to shout their vows from rooftops while others like to play it closer to the vest.
But what happens if you simply don't feel like pouring your heart in front of everyone you know? Another option that a lot of couples are choosing nowadays is to say their vows privately to one another either before or after the ceremony.
There are many reasons why a couple would choose to go this route, but for most, private vows are a good choice for people who are a little shy generally, don't like public speaking, or are just nervous about the wedding day. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your deepest feelings with anyone other than your love, you don't have to!
