To say that Rob and Parker had a beautiful wedding would be a gross understatement. Words like "stunning" "jaw-dropping" and even "breathtaking" might be a better description. If you're dreaming of a nature-filled cabin wedding venue that celebrates all of the beauty Northern Utah has to offer, then the Wasatch Mountain Lodge is definitely worth checking out.
Located on the hillside above Brighton Inn, just a few hundred yards from the Milly Express lift, this large, 100-year-old log structure is hidden in a dense forest which made a perfect backdrop for Rob and Parker's wedding. Here's a little sneak peek at some of my favorite shots from the ceremony and portraits taken on the grounds.
For couples that love the country lifestyle, cabins are a logical venue choice because they're timeless, charming and can easily accommodate weddings of any size, any time of year.
Before starting your venue search, it's important to consider the vibe you'd like to create on your big day. If you're dreaming of a wedding with a cozy, family-oriented, and rustic feel, complete with some truly spectacular scenery, a cabin wedding venue like Wasatch Mountain Lodge might be the perfect setting for your event.
Log cabins are becoming increasingly popular for weddings because they are rustic, romantic and often tucked into beautiful patches of nature.
The combination of breathtaking views and calm serenity makes the Smoky Mountains a popular wedding destination. On top of that, the use of cabins as wedding venues have been on the rise for the last several years. It allows for couples to have a smaller ceremony with just their close friends and family in attendance.
There is no better backdrop to a wedding ceremony than the natural beauty of the majestic Utah mountains. No matter what time of the year you are planning to tie the knot, you can be assured you will have the perfect scene for a breathtaking wedding.
Not only will the Utah mountains make the perfect backdrop to your wedding, but it also creates the most amazing pictures. You will be so caught up in the excitement of your big day that you will want to have photographs to look back on. Imagine being able to look back one day and remember the beautiful scenery of your wedding!
What could be more traditional than wedding in a historic log cabin? If you’ve rented a gorgeous cabin that’s been around for a century or so, chances are you aren’t the only couple to have married there. Think of all the love birds that have gone before you and feel the wonderful wedding bliss vibes that surround you.
While Rob and Parker held their ceremony outdoors, the inside of the cabin itself was reserved for the getting-ready portion of their wedding and their reception. The upper half of the lodge contains two very large getting-ready areas with windows that let in vast amounts of light and boasted amazing views of Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Log cabins delight the eye with distinctive architectural focal points such as the fireplace located in the great room of this cabin which made for a unique, welcoming, and cozy backdrop for the speeches, first dance, and cake-cutting ceremony at Rob and Parker's reception.
And then came my most favorite part of any wedding, the dance portion! The great room of this cabin was large enough to hold a full DJ set-up as well as ample seating and a space large enough to have up to 20 guests at a time dancing their little hearts out.
No wedding would be complete without a proper send-off. Some of Rob and Parker's closest family and friends stuck around long enough to send the couple on their way as they began their new journey in life.
Deciding on a wedding location will be one of the first big decisions you make as you plan your wedding. There are lots of advantages to a log cabin wedding, whether you have it within your home-state or somewhere further afield. Sometimes the best option can be right on your doorstep and if you're lucky enough to live in the Salt Lake Valley, the Wasatch Mountain Lodge is only a hop-skip-jump away.
